Hi, I am Clarisse, the woman behind Ysabella’s Custom Designs. Let me tell you a little about myself and my journey. My husband, Rowel, and I are both from the Philippines. My husband moved here in New Zealand mid 2014 to work as a dairy farmer in a small and amazing town of Oamaru and I decided to move with him last 2018. I just recently gave birth to my beautiful baby girl, Ysabella (hence the name of our business). I used to work in a meat processing company and while on maternity leave, COVID 19 pandemic hit the world. We plan to get a family member from the Philippines to take care of the baby when I get back to work, but New Zealand borders are still closed so it's not possible to do that and leaving our daughter to daycare is out of option. So I decided to start a small business by getting funds out of my maternity pay. Ysabella’s Custom Designs is a way for me to get the best of both worlds. I can work from home, around my daughter’s routines whilst designing beautiful items, and I still get that buzz of seeing her developments and every milestone. Every item is designed, cut, pressed, printed and packaged with love right here on our home. I am so humbled by, and thankful for every single order.
